One of highest jackpot of Powerball history on Monday
There may be no jackpot winner for Saturday's Powerball drawing, but the price of three tickets sold in New York is big,
lottery officials said. Three third prize winning tickets worth $50,000 were sold in the state and contained four matching numbers and a Powerball.
Tickets were sold at Nor-Cross Service Station in Whitestone, Mega News in Manhattan and Varahi Cards & Gifts in Nesconette, officials said.
Without a jackpot winner over the weekend, the top prize rose to $610 million ahead of Monday's draw, making it the eighth highest prize in Powerball history.
Powerball draws the winning numbers in an event that can be watched live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 pm. EST.
Powerball is available in 45 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. It costs $2 to play.
